There are a lot of options when it comes to "fire starters". There is paste, gel, rope, fatwood, etc. We use the Quick Tinder fire tabs because: 1) They are small, light, easy to start and fit in our Tins. 2) They are dry treated cotton so no sticky residue. 3) They are waterproof! You can light these, put them in water and watch them float and burn. 3) They burn for up to 2 minutes so you could put it out and use it again. 4) They are relatively inexpensive, especially when comparted to other options.
